St. Luke\u2019s Center\u2019s gynecologic surgeon Jennifer Marie B. Jose earned the distinction of being the first Filipino doctor to make it to the surgeon\u2019s locator list of the Intuitive Surgical Inc., the makers of the \u00a0Da Vinci Si Robotic Surgical System.<\/p>\n
Doctor Jose is part of the team of gynecologic robotic surgeons of St. Luke\u2019s Medical Center-Global City.<\/p>\n
Being on the list bestows Jose the honor of being one of the robotic surgeons all over the world recognized by Intuitive Surgical for their proficiency in robotics surgery. The list, which can be found on the Da Vinci Surgical System website (http:\/\/www.davincisurgery.com), can be accessed by patients who are looking for doctors adept in the surgical system the world over.<\/p>\n
To be on the list, a surgeon should have performed in a year at least 20 robotically assisted surgeries as the lead surgeon using the Da Vinci Surgical System. So far, Jose has performed 37 gynecologic robotically assisted surgeries, with her being the lead surgeon in over half of these procedures.<\/p>\n
Jose currently heads the Comprehensive Pelvic Floor Center of St. Luke\u2019s Medical Center-Global City. She is also section chief in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery.<\/p>\n
Jose had her clinical and research fellowship in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and University of Toronto, Canada. She was also trained in Gynecologic Laparoscopy in Chennai, India and University of Toronto, Canada and in Robotics-assisted laparoscopy in Celebration, Florida.<\/p>\n
